to pick some grapes

A few weekends ago we helped our teammates harvest their grapes from the family vineyard.
I've never done anything like it and I have to say it was a VERY cool experience.

It is actually REALLY hard work, especially trying to reach the grapes overhead (note to self: plant vineyard right at arms length) and it takes a long time to just do a small area. Plus it had just rained quite a bit so our hair and fingers got pretty wet and cold.
It was really cool to think about the verses of "He is the vine and we are the branches" and be right in there with all the vines and grapes. It is really hard to tell where the vine stops and the branches begin or vice versa. Anyways, it was a very fun experience!
This is the thing that squished all the grapes. We got to taste the fresh grape juice and it was UNREAL! Sooooooo goooooood!!!!
Of course the whole point of keeping your own vineyard is to make homemade wine...but apparently that takes a long time. Maybe in a few more months we'll get to sample more of our hard work.

Thanks for the pics Stephanie!
