...to go to English camp

This time last week, we were wrapping up an outstanding weekend.
A private Catholic school here in Ljubljana asked us to come and teach English for a special weekend retreat with their freshman and sophomores. About 25 students came we had such a good time! We stayed at a lovely place down at the seaside, just north of Piran.
Friday night we played Bunko and some of the kids went swimming in the sea (not the ocean- the Adriatic Sea!). On Saturday, we had a few hours of English classes and then went for a long walk to the town of Piran to get ice cream, practice conversational English, and sight see. On Saturday night we played all sorts of crazy games including "finger rockets" and topped off the night with some good 'ol American line (and square) dancing! Sunday morning we had another round of English classes and then said our goodbyes.
Our teammate David also gave three talks out of the Bible throughout the weekend and it was a wonderful opportunity to talk to the students about a relationship with Jesus.
My class of 6 students asked really insightful questions and I was able to share stories out of my own life with them. All in all, it was an awesome weekend with a great group of kids.
(If you click on the pictures, you should get to see them a little better.
Thanks to Craig for the pics!)
